PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door is a simple accessory for installation in doors or walls that provides your pet with freedom and independence. The insulated pet door allows your dog or cat to enter and exit the house at any time, regardless of weather conditions, and protects your home from extreme temperatures up to 3.5 times more effectively than single-flap doors. Whether it's winter or summer, frost or heat - the triple flap with a central insulating layer blocks the influx of extremely cold or hot air from outside. For maximum security, when the door is not in use, you can additionally cover it with a snap-on panel.
The operation of the door is very simple. The pet just needs to push the transparent flap with its body, and it will lift and automatically fall back down once the pet has passed through the opening. The Extreme Weather model features 2 setting options: the flap opens inward and outward or is completely closed. If you don't want your pet to leave the house for a while or vice versa, you can completely close the passage at any time using the snap-on cover. Importantly, the flap does not swing but stops flush with the frame, and a built-in magnet keeps it in place. This closing system prevents accidental opening of the flap, for example, during strong winds.
The insulated pet doors are available in three sizes - S, M, and L. They can be installed in brick walls as well as wooden, metal, PVC, and UPVC doors. Installation is not complicated, and a special template and screws are included in the set. For thicker walls and doors, it is recommended to install an additional tunnel, which is also included in the set. Both the frame and the flap are made of durable plastic, making the product long-lasting and weather-resistant. The frame comes in a universal white color, but you can easily paint it in your preferred color.

Tip: To make it easier for your pet to pass through the door, install it in such a way that the pet does not have to climb to get through.
How to teach your pet to use the door?
After installing the door, leave the flap open for a while (you can secure it with a piece of string and tape to the surface above. Make sure the flap does not fall accidentally, as this may scare your pet). Encourage your pet to pass through the opening using its favorite food or treats. First, feed the pet at the door inside, and then at the door outside. Practice until the pet starts passing through the opening without hesitation. Then repeat the training with the flap down so the pet learns to push the door to exit. Pet and reward your pet every time it passes through the door. You can also incorporate play into the training, such as throwing a ball for the dog through the door or using a cat wand.
