Description
PetSafe Manual-Locking Cat Flap is a cat door that provides your pet with freedom and independence. The cat flap can be installed in doors, walls, or windows, allowing your pet to enter and exit the house at any time. You don’t have to interrupt your activities to let your furry friend out and then monitor their return to let them back in. The operation of the flap is very simple. The pet just needs to push the transparent flap with their body, and it will lift and automatically fall back down once the pet passes through the opening.
The Manual-Locking Cat Flap model features 4 opening/closing options that you can easily change using a dial:
- The flap is completely closed (lock symbol on the dial)
- The cat can enter the house but cannot exit (inward arrow symbol)
- The cat can exit but cannot enter (outward arrow symbol)
- The flap opens in both directions (bidirectional arrow)
At the bottom of the flap and the opening in the frame, there are magnets that keep the flap in place, preventing excess air from entering the house and accidental opening of the flap, for example, during strong winds. Additionally, the edges of the flap are surrounded by a soft strip that enhances protection against drafts and muffles the operation of the flap. The transparent material resembles a window and makes it easier for the pet to push the flap in the right spot. However, the Manual-Locking model can also be successfully installed inside the house to allow your pet access to a room where we rarely leave the door open, such as the bathroom. It also works well as an exit to a balcony.
The Manual-Locking Cat Flap can be installed in brick walls as well as wooden, metal, PVC, and UPVC doors, and in glass doors and windows. Installation is not complicated, and you will have a special cutter and screws included in the set to assist you. If you plan to install the flap on a thicker wall or door, this model is perfect as it has a built-in tunnel that is 4.7 cm long. Both the frame and the flap are made of durable plastic, making the product long-lasting and resistant to weather conditions. The flaps are available in universal colors - white and brown - which match many interiors.

How to teach your pet to use the flap?
After installing the flap, leave it open for a while (you can secure it with a piece of string and tape to the surface above. Make sure the flap doesn’t fall accidentally, as this may scare your pet). Encourage your pet to pass through the opening using their favorite food or treats. First, feed the pet at the door inside, and then at the door outside. Practice this until your pet starts passing through the opening without hesitation. Then repeat the training with the flap down so your pet learns to push the flap to exit. Pet and reward your pet every time they pass through the flap. You can also incorporate a play element into the training, such as using a cat wand.
